SIMULACRA
EXHIBITION FROM 25 JUNE TO 27 SEPTEMBER 2026
CURATED BY ANNA LABOUZE & KEIMIS HENNI
AT THE MAGASINS GÉNÉRAUX, PANTIN
The exhibition explores the many ways in which artists blur the boundaries between reality and appearance. From artisanal processes to the most advanced technologies, it highlights the strategies of mimicry, illusion and simulation that have shaped the recent history of artistic creation.
From hyperrealism and perceptual games to digital simulacra and images generated by artificial intelligence, the exhibition questions our ability to distinguish between what is real and what is false.
Between fascination, vertigo and critique, Simulacres examines the shifts in perception at a time when images are becoming increasingly indistinguishable, when falseness and illusion are no longer the exception but a norm to be understood, challenged or sublimated.
